Summary
When she misses the last bus home after a daytrip to Paris, a young woman, Lola, finds
herself stranded on the outskirts of the city. She meets up with a young man who
persuades her to go with him to a night club, where she takes drugs and gets high.
In her drugged state, she forms an attachment to another young man, Emir, a boxer of Arab
descent. When Emir’s girlfriend, Saida, sees them together, she confronts Lola.
Review
This film scores highly on visual style but not much for narrative content. On the
plus side the film has an almost shockingly vibrant cinematography and some credible portrayals
of young people hooked on the drugs culture, notably by Elodie Bouchez and Roschdy Zem
(both cult figures in French cinema). Yet despite all that, the film's lack of structure
and plot makes it hard to engage with.
